Display Adds to Community Facility

The Challenge

When the Salvation Army Kroc Center was preparing to open their building, they wanted to have a display that would take advantage of the busy road nearby.

The Daktronics Solution

Total Signs in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, worked with the center and the architect to determine where the display would be most effective. According to Gary Cromer, vice president of Total Signs, the sign "was placed where it is for maximum visibility from both directions on either side of the busy street."

The installation was "very smooth," according to Cromer, and the sign was up and running the first day. Major John Chamness, executive director at the Kroc Center, said the sign company ran the show. "Total Signs took over for us and made sure it was done right."

Cromer said one of the reasons the community center likes their display so much is the clarity. Chamness said they chose Daktronics because of the "readablility of the sign. We liked that we could clearly see the display content."

The center uses the display to "communicate information about events taking place in our community," said Chamness. "We promote people visiting the center, times of operations, and programs we're offering."

Chamness said that the sign has met their expectations. "We got exactly what we wanted. We have almost 16,000 members, even though we’re new to the community."

Cromer said Total Signs sells Daktronics products because of the experience. "I wouldn't think of using any other company. They have a great product, great service, and great people."
