The Challenge

Blue Ribbon Diner has been in business for 30 years, and still had an outdated internally lit sign. Angelo Mengias, the owner of the Blue Ribbon Diner, wanted the diner to be visible to the community, and that called for an update.

The Daktronics Solution

Ray Sign recommended a Daktronics product to Angelo due to the company being the leaders in the industry. Being the first of its kind in Schenectady, the LED display drew in new customers and increased business by ten percent.

"In the first year, I had customers commenting on the sign because it enhanced not only my property, but also the neighborhood," Angelo says. Changes can be made through a computer instead of manually, which is one of the features Angelo enjoys.

"No matter the weather, I have much better visibility with my LED sign," says Angelo. Having a digital display also makes it easier to change the message without having to be exposed to the harsh elements of up-state New York.

Angelo now uses the display to advertise specials and a variety of baked goods. With easy-to-use software, Angelo uses graphics to enhance his community appeal.
