First Daktronics LED Message Display in New Zealand

The Challenge

Monstavision, a New Zealand partner of Daktronics, is an LED screen rental business as well as a provider of LED perimeter pitch signage for major sports.

As the exclusive holder of supplier and digital advertising rights for the New Zealand Rugby Union of LED signage for the All Blacks International Matches, Monstavision sold an LED display to Mainfreight, a global supply chain logistics provider and involved in the New Zealand Stock Exchange.

Mainfreight’s management was extremely happy with the coverage they had received from the Rugby LED pitch signage so they asked Monstavision if an LED display could be built on their corporate office building in Auckland, on the main road leading from the Auckland International Airport, the gateway to
New Zealand.

As a leader in their field of business, Mainfreight wanted to be the first company in New Zealand to be able to showcase a full color digital sign.

The Daktronics Solution

Monstavision presented various LED message display options to Mainfreight and negotiated a sale of a Daktronics Galaxy 20mm RGB outdoor LED matrix display.

Mainfreight will use the display to display their animated full color logo, as well as providing the passing traffic with quotes from the company’s by-lines. They also have the opportunity to welcome its guests to New Zealand as they drive in from the airport.
Monstavision will assist with the production of content for the display and use it to showcase the Galaxy range.

As a New Zealand first, the LED message display has already attracted significant attention, with calls to Monstavision the day after it was installed.
