Daktronics Display Ideal Vehicle to Advertise Quality Furniture

A new Ashley Furniture HomeStore in West Melbourne, Florida, licensee of Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., is excited about its new Galaxy® electronic message center (EMC) installed in front of the facility along a heavily-traveled road and also visible from the interstate. The approximately 3 feet by 9 feet light emitting diode (LED) display advertises special sales and promotions, runs classified ads for help wanted and shows photographs and prices of quality furniture products.

Ashley Furniture Business Manager Diane Wood states that “Everybody thinks our new sign is fabulous and we’ve had many business owners around town ask us about it.” Wood goes on to say, “We are a new facility, but I believe the sign is definitely a component of the success we’re currently enjoying.”

Before ordering a display, Ashley Furniture went to several sign companies to view and compare different EMCs. Wood explains that Ashley Furniture finally chose a Daktronics display from Art-Kraft Sign Company because of its color and detail capabilities. Since installation, Wood has been especially pleased with the display system’s accuracy in rendering photographs of different products from Ashley Furniture’s inventory into clear, detailed images. The store manager and in-house advertising person both operate the easy-to-use Venus® 1500 software which controls the display. The operators scan in photographs of the products they want to display on the Galaxy® EMC, and the Venus® 1500 software creates a detailed image utilizing the system’s 34 mm pixel pitch and 32,768 available colors.

Donna Lindsey, Senior Sales Associate for Art-Kraft Sign Company, states that she is “absolutely thrilled” with the display and sold another when her customer saw the Ashley Furniture installation.

Lindsey states that Art-Kraft previously ordered displays from a company other than Daktronics, until noticing the “incredible color and clarity” Daktronics displays demonstrated at the International Sign Association Convention last year. When Art-Kraft discovered that not only the color and clarity, but also the prices were better than other companies’ products, they decided to deal strictly with Daktronics. Lindsey commented that Daktronics consistently meets deadlines and that Daktronics regional staff “went above and beyond the call of duty.”
