Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Installs More Daktronics Technology

BROOKINGS, S.D. – April 14, 2009 – Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., has designed, manufactured and installed new digital video displays in the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, S.D.

The Civic Center’s new equipment consists of two Daktronics light emitting diode (LED) digital video displays. The first display shows live video, replays, scoring, and statistical information and measures approximately 17 feet high by 30 feet wide. The other display, which encircles the interior of the Civic Center’s arena, measures approximately 2 feet high by 467 feet wide.

“Right here in Rapid City, a community of less than 80,000, Daktronics has teamed up with the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center to bring the newest and best electronic package available on the market for the enjoyment of our guests,” said Brian A. Daktronics LED video displays use the latest in red, green and blue (RGB) LED technology to present live and recorded video images, colorful animation and vivid graphics with incredible brightness and wide-angle visibility. A custom sound system was also installed in the Civic Center's arena. The new system delivers pounding bass energy, smooth mid and high range frequencies, and high impact entertainment through the integration of audio, video and scoring technologies.
