Daktronics Introduces New Parking Space Availability Displays
BROOKINGS, S.D. – January 26, 2008 – Daktronics, Inc, (NASDAQ – DAKT) announces two new models of parking space availability displays, the DF-2052 and DF-2053. Both models are capable of displaying red and green digits, in addition to “OPEN” and “ClSd” messages. They increase convenience for parking facility customers by displaying how many spaces are available on different levels.
The new displays also simplify installation for system integrators.
“We wanted to make installation a breeze,” said Daktronics Parking Niche Manager Randy Schilling. “The unit comes pre-wired and pre-tested at the factory, and the one-piece cabinet design eliminates the need for bolting sections together.”
The DF-2052 is a two-to-six level tower model. It improves upon its predecessor, the DF-1052, by introducing a protective polycarbonate face that also boosts contrast. The display is delivered in one, pre-fabricated and factory-tested piece, rather than several individual levels. Daktronics also simplified cabinet access with a single vandal-resistant front door.
“In case there’s a maintenance problem, it’s a lot easier to access the interior of the display because of the newly designed face panel,” said Schilling.

The DF-2053, a single-level display, has a flanged edge for easy integration into static panels. It improves upon the previous model, the DF-1053, with a sleeker cabinet design, polycarbonate face and more.
These new additions to the product lineup complement Daktronics’ array of field-proven, full-matrix Galaxy® LED message centers designed for parking applications. Controlled with Venus® 1500 software, full-matrix LED displays can produce graphics, courtesy messaging, way finding arrows, payment options, roadway advertising and more. The new DF-2052 and DF-2053 models can simplify internal space counting on their own or as part of an integrated signage system.
