Auto Club Speedway Installs New Daktronics HD-X Video Displays
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Dec. 10, 2009 – The Auto Club Speedway of Southern California recently chose Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) to design, manufacture and install two new HD-X LED video displays. The display installed in Turn One had great success for the October 2009 race. The second identical display designed for Turn Four is now ready for the track’s race in February 2010.
“All of us at Auto Club Speedway stay completely dedicated in doing our part to offer the best value and experience for those who visit the speedway,” Auto Club Speedway President Gillian Zucker said. “The brand new high resolution, HD video display board at Turn One features the latest in large-screen LED technology. Fans will be able to watch the Pepsi 500 and Copart 300 with plasma-like picture quality, all from the infield.”
The video display measures almost 16 feet high by 28 feet wide with pixels on 16 mm line spacing. Daktronics HD-X technology is ideal for applications requiring a wide viewing angle, ensuring every fan has a great view of the action on the track. Each board can show a single video image or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of information animations and video.
In 2007, the Speedway retrofitted a 146-foot tall custom LED vertical scoring pylon with new Daktronics LED digits. The four-sided display offers greater visibility to racing fans.
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
