Adams State College to Add Integrated Video, Scoring, Sound System to New Stadium
BROOKINGS, S.D. – July 27, 2010 – Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., announced today that it has been chosen to design, manufacture and install a new light emitting diode (LED) integrated video, scoring and sound system to the new football stadium at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo.
“The fan experience at the new stadium will be completely enhanced by this new system,” Athletic Director Larry Mortensen said. “Both the college football team and the area high school teams will appreciate and enjoy the facility.”
The new video display, which will be installed before this fall, will measure approximately 14 feet high by nearly 25 feet wide. It incorporates excellent clarity and contrast of video images, multiple levels of protection from the elements and a more robust cabinet design with an improved ventilation system. The display will be capable of showing live video and instant replays, as well as colorful animations, vivid graphics and eye-catching advertisements.
A new football scoreboard will be included in the installation as well. The LED scoreboard will feature all of the information football fans need to keep up with the action on the field. Together with the video board and truss, the display will measure approximately 36 feet high by 36 feet wide.
A Sportsound® 1500HD sound system, which will be integrated with the video and scoring system, will also be added to the stadium. The system provides full-range sound reproduction and delivers clear and intelligible speech. The 1500HD provides a powerful audio experience for the fans. Daktronics audio offers high quality audio systems that can integrate with dynamic displays in indoor and outdoor sport venues.
“We were happy to have the opportunity to work with Adams State College on this project,” Daktronics Sales Representative Melissa Fjeldheim said. “With the new video display, scoreboard and sound system, fans will enjoy added excitement at football games and track and field meets.”
The video display is controlled by Daktronics Show Control System, which offers users a merger of control software, data integration, playback hardware and image processing technology for form a single, comprehensive production solution.
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
