GoVision’s Giant Daktronics Display Delivers Great Views at Opening of AT&T Performing Arts Center
BROOKINGS, S.D. – October 30, 2009 - One of the world’s great new cultural centers pulled out all the stops for its Grand Opening in the Dallas Arts District. Among the most eyecatching features was the giant high-resolution screen set-up outside the venue to give patrons and passers-by alike an over-sized view of the festivities.
The portable LED screen was provided by GoVision (www.jumbo.tv), one of the nation’s premier suppliers of turnkey mobile LED units and customized modular LED walls. GoVision technicians configured a 9’ x 16’ Daktronics PST HD screen to broadcast live video during the inaugural gala of the AT&T Performing Arts Center. GoVision was contracted by Dallas-based Planet Productions, the firm responsible for producing the weekend’s events.
“The Grand Opening of the AT&T Performing Arts Center was one of the biggest and most visible events in Dallas this year, so everything had to be perfect,” said David Brown, technical director for Planet Productions. “GoVision’s screen looked great and performed flawlessly throughout the entire event.”
The Grand Opening ceremonies of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, held from October 13- 18, 2009, marked the long-anticipated completion of the Dallas Arts District, an idea first conceived more than 25 years ago.
“We’re used to playing a role in some of the biggest and most significant events around the country,” said Chris Curtis, president of GoVision LP. “But it’s always special when we’re asked to help with a major event in the Metroplex. We’re honored to be a small part of this historic Grand Opening, and congratulate the organizers for a truly world-class event worthy of such a prestigious cultural venue.”
